karen hester received a bs in psychology in 2010, an ma in io psychology in 2013, and an afa in visual arts in 2023. she is a raleigh, north carolina based multiple media artist known for her book-inspired artwork. as an avid reader, karen loves to combine stories, psychology, and art. karen’s work examines the relationship between readers and literature, specifically exploring why we read, why we need diverse books, and why we relate to and love the characters. karen uses the fluidity art offers to connect with the human psyche through color, texture, magic, and, of course, stories.
